Well done Ingrid, that was a really interesting article. I''ll comment further in a minute, but firstly...

for some reason your post has appeared before cyber's one. It's probably because you saved it as a draft first, yes? I recommend you copy and past everything, then delete the post and then republish it.

Nice post, Ingrid!

All you have to do is modify the post time so it appears after Cyberotter's.

Actually, I think Cyberotter's post time is incorrect. It's about three hours later than it should be.

oh oh..do I have to get technical now? I was writing in real time on word, then copied and pasted it so I would not be 'in the way' of the person posting before me!
I'll check and see if I can do any of it..if not..I might bat my eyelashes and let any of you do the honours! (I'm afraid to delete me post, after all that! wish me luck)

Oh yeh - how did that happen? :S

Cyberotter's living in the future..............

Yep, Ingrid your post time is fine. You can leave it alone.

Cyberotter - you need to wheel back the clock to 8 AM.

Ingrid - firstly, I am not a member of the fairer sex.

I can try to fix it, although I don't know how to work Blogger very well.

I think all that needs to happen is cyberotter to turn the clock back on his post to 8AM.

I'll see if I can do that for him.

Well, I guess so much for guessing.. lol . Thanks for trying. Perhaps you can ask Cyberotter if you're not too sure.
I just posted a link to a video, I'll see if I can find it on youtube and post it here

Great! Where did you do the change?
I guess Robbie is up next. Are you going to fill in whenever someone is not filling a spot?
I'll have to check with my family to see whenever I could help out again.. I was committed to 2 more so I could potentially do that later this afternoon..

Right, now for your actual post. It is very interesting and actually quite disturbing to find out just how obedient to authority we all are. I suppose it's because we have it drummed into us form birthe - listen to your parents they know best, obey your teachers, trust 'experts' like doctors and dentists, and so on. There was another experiment (I forget the name) that studied torturers and how they were able to inflict such pain on others. The answer was that they switched off a part of their brain, and just became a tool to be employed. They followed orders unquestioningly.

That's one of the reasons it takes such courage to desert the army. Because it requires that you don't just become a tool, a conduit of the wishes of authority. It requires that you wake up and take repsonsibility for your actions.

Excellent post, Ingrid.

Mash - OK, can you do 10:30?

Ingrid - Well, since I'm staying awake for the whole 24 hours, I figure it'd be more useful if I wait until a time when most people have left or are unable to post. I'm almost finished my first post, though :)

My first post is ready. I'll post it in about 14 minutes.

Heathlander, good thing. You'd go kookoo if you actually had tried to do all 48 of them!
I had wanted to say a few other things but I ended up being late and pressed for time. When I started out blogging, I had read somewhere that most people take about 20 a day to post. Yea right! It takes me at least an hour just for the research alone. Well, you can tell when I haven't because those posts tend to be shorter or just provide a video. I do try to break up all the 'words words words'.. because it's easier on the eyes plus, people need variety..so do I,
maybe you can figure out how to put people in a two hour time slot so you can take a nap!

Mash, I have it covered. I'm doing a two-part post, the first of which will be online in about nine minutes.

Ingrid - don't worry, I have readied myself. The mental strength is their (and if it isn't, I'll try and replenish it with some caffeine).

Mash - Erm, I haven't been working in PST. Robbie's doing a post in just under 10 minutes, and then again half an hour later. Your slot is half an hour after *that*, so roughly 1h 10m from now.

9:27 AM
Blogger heathlander said...

Ingrid - yeh, I was thinking about IM. I don't mind using it, we can see what everyone else thinks.

Mash - OK cool. I've got to grips with the time zones - my brain is now an automatic time zone converter.

Marcella, in case you dont read the comment on the first post - I didn't see your reply until just now, and so I assumed you'd gone away and I gave that slot to someone else. Sorry!

Can your new slot be 11? That's 90 minutes from now.

Cheers Mash.

God, I've got so many windows open, I'm getting lost in them!!
